Caring for 100% Cotton
Cotton is a naturally breathable and soft fibre that becomes beautifully lived-in over time. Because it is natural, it responds best to gentler washing, lower temperatures and air drying.
01 — Wash Gently
Wash your cotton pieces in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably with similar colours. Choose a mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh detergents, which may weaken the fibres and affect the fabric's colour and softness over time.
For delicate details such as lace, embroidery, ties or shirring, placing your garment in a laundry bag before washing can provide a little extra protection.
02 — Dry Naturally
After washing, gently reshape your garment and air dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying and excessive heat whenever possible, as high temperatures can cause natural cotton fibres to shrink and may affect the garment's shape.
Avoid wringing or twisting your pieces. Instead, gently press out excess water and allow the fabric to dry naturally.
03 — Steam & Iron Gently
A little wrinkling is completely normal with natural cotton. To refresh your piece, use a garment steamer or iron on a low to medium heat. For delicate embroidery, lace or other details, steam gently or iron from the reverse side where possible.
What to Expect from Natural Fabrics
One of the beautiful things about choosing natural fibres is that they develop character with time. Your cotton piece may become softer after repeated washing, and some wrinkling or slight changes in texture are completely normal.
Minor shrinkage can also naturally occur with cotton, particularly when exposed to heat. Following the recommended washing and drying instructions will help minimise this and preserve the original fit of your garment.
Natural doesn't always mean perfectly unchanged — it means a fabric designed to be worn, lived in and loved.
A Few Things to Avoid
To help your Hadae pieces last longer, avoid hot washes, tumble drying on high heat, bleach, harsh detergents and excessive wringing or twisting. We also recommend keeping delicate garments away from rough surfaces, zippers or accessories that may catch on the fabric, lace or embroidery.
Before You Wash
Always check the care label inside your individual garment first, as some Hadae pieces may feature different fabrics, linings, trims or construction that require specific care. When in doubt, choose the gentlest method.
Store With Care
Make sure your pieces are completely dry before storing them. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve their colour and fabric. Delicate dresses can be gently folded or hung on a suitable hanger to help maintain their shape.
